With a red weather warning already issued last month, and more hot weather on the way, the RAC is advising motorists to think about their vehicle use where possible. Horses Detect Near-Silent Electric Vehicles, Study Finds A new Scottish-led study has found that horses may be more aware of approaching electric vehicles than their riders, despite concerns that EVs are too quiet. Researchers discovered that horses can detect the subtle sounds produced by electric vehicles, although problems are more likely to occur when vehicles pass too quickly or too closely. The findings highlight the importance of responsible driving around horses, with the British Horse Society continuing to urge motorists to slow down, give plenty of space and pass with care as electric vehicles become increasingly common on UK roads.
